Proof of Heaven; A Neurosurgeon’s Journey Into the Afterlife

Near-death experiences are fascinating to read about, and this one especially so. What makes Eben Alexander’s experience so unique are 4 things:
1) He was a neurosurgeon who, prior to his experience, “knew” that NDEs were impossible;
2) His sudden onset of a rare form of meningitis was never traced to a cause;
3) After 7 days in a coma, his chances of survival were virtually nil ; and
4) When he miraculously regained consciousness on the 8th day, he was able to recall his experience in detail.
The author tells us that we are spiritual beings, inextricably connected to the larger universe and that we are all loved. After his experience, the focus of his life changed to spreading the word, understanding that what’s most important is to have love in our hearts. I found it a privilege to read.
