Coffee with a double shot

Viv writes: “A couple of weeks ago I drove into a service station to grab a coffee. A truck drove in behind me. The trucker hopped out and took his turn after me at the coffee machine. I was queuing to pay when the trucker tapped me on the shoulder and asked if he could pay for my coffee. I accepted and thanked him very much for his kindness. I was worried though that he was then going to hit on me, but he wished me a lovely day, hopped back in his truck and drove off.

Lesson learned: Don’t automatically suspect a random act of kindness to be prompted by an ulterior motive.  That man gave me two gifts that day – shouted me a coffee and taught me a valuable lesson. He really did make my day!”
